what is VOQ and VQI for Cisco nexus qos?

Hi all,

I've been tasked to implement the qos on Cisco 7Ks for our network. 

Looking into this very topic .. there isn't much help available online anywhere.

I came across VOQ and VQI and still struggling to digest this. 

I have found one thread on Cisco that did explain but still nothing in depth.

Can anyone point to relevant document with example and deep understanding; or explain a bit more?

Hi there,

These concepts are covered well in the following Cisco Live! "Cisco Nexus 7000/7700 Switch Architecture - BRKARC-3470" (2017 version is most up to date) and are also briefly discussed in "

Advanced Troubleshooting Cisco 7000 Series - BRKDCT-3234" I'd recommend the 2016 version for this one. These can be accessed for free via https://www.ciscolive.com/global/on-demand-library/

Additionally, VOQ,VQI concepts are discussed in the Nexus 7000 Input Discards Guide
