 - That depends on how it aligns with your perimeter, and ISP connection. The question is not healthy in the sense that it is better to have Intranet infrastructure shielded from the Internet by a firewall which will or can also handle the routing of packets to the Internet.

Hi,

This is very little information and we can't help you much. we need more information as to where is your ISP connection terminated. Are you using any router or Firewall for NATing? Is your Switch configured properly? Are you getting an IP address from the ISP? Is your router or firewall having a valid route and NATing for VLANs?

It is better to share your network diagram and switch configuration with us.

Regards,

As others have posted, we really need more information.

However, in general, if your connection to the Internet and a host device, are both connected to access ports, and both in the same VLAN, and if the host is configured to use DHCP, likely that host will be able to communicate with the Internet. (NB: You need to have the "right" kind [straight through or cross over] of Ethernet cable, or the switch needs to support [and allow] auto-MDI. [I recall the 3750G, by default, has auto-MDI enabled.])

If you want to have multiple hosts communicate with the Internet, you'll need to insure your ISP is providing a "pool" of IP addresses or you'll need a router with NAT capability. (NB: small/home "Internet" routers will do this. They often support a small number of LAN ports, but could be used with your 3750G too.)
