What to connect 2 x 2960 stacks using fibre?

Hi,

I am going to purchase 6 x Catalyst WS-C2960S-48FPD-L switches and make them into 2 stacks (because 4 is the maximum switches in a stack).

I want to connect the 2 stacks using 10GB.

What kind of transceiver and fibre cable do I need to buy in order to link the 2 stacks up using 10GB?

Are they different if I link them up with 1GB?

Thanks in advance.

SFP-10G-SR for 10gig

GLC-SX-MM for 1gig

you can use multimode fiber. Depending on the quality/ratings of the multimode fiber there will be distance limitations.

Thanks Roman for your response.

It is a pity that 2960 can only provide at most 2 x 10GB uplink.

I wish it could provide 4 x.
