Hi All
We had a drive to move away from the 2960X switches to 9200 series early last year.
I am still seeing people buying the 2960X series.
What is the roadmap here? Id of expected the 2960X would have been discontinued.
Can anyone advise?
Cheers
2960X is already end-of-sale.
There are two directions to choose from:
1. If money is no object, 9200/9300 is the direct replacement of 2960X;
2. The Catalyst 1000 is also a contender. This particular model still runs on "classic" Cisco IOS but it won't have a lot of features such as SD-Access, Cisco Smart Licensing and stacking. This particular model is aimed entirely at customers who want a pure Layer 2 switch. Period.
NOTE: Catalyst 1000 doesn't support stacking but it supports "Horizontal Stacking" aka Single IP Management.
Hi
We have purchased some today, so how can they be EOS?
Can you show me the EOS/EOL statement from Cisco ?
Roadmap is Cat 9K for sure depends on budget Cat 1k:
here is the 2960 documents - not sure exact model you looking.

HI Carl,
it's not End of Sales yet...but Cisco recommed the C9200(L) for new purchases.
But i would expect the End of Sale Notice during that year.

Matthias
End-of-Life was last year , June 2019
End-of-Sale Date:- Sept 2019
What will happen to old stuff? ebay?

My understanding is that that EoS & EoL ist just for some particual models and or IOS releases on that platform.
Like that example with the Lan Lite Version you mentioned.
Until today i still can create quote and Deals via CCW withouth any messages about a upcoming EoL and EoS.
If i'm wrong please correct me but i think i'm right.

Matthias
PS: If you look on the link below it is still stated as orderable

They are announced end of sales and will become end of sales on 31/10/2021
But does someone know what will happen with the 2960CX series ?
