Hi,

Switch 1 and switch 2 connected via trunk. Both configured with new vlan 3.

When creating new vlan 3, is it need to include "Spanning-tree vlan 3 priority 8192"- Sw 1 and "Spanning-tree vlan 3 priority 16384"-Sw 2?

What will happen for those switch if didnt put in this command?

What situation need to apply this command?

First of all, are there only two switches in the topology? If so, are there only one physical link between switches?

If you have only one switches in the topology with one physical link between them

only if you have switching topology with more than two switches and you need to be sure that a particular switch is the root

You can read for more understanding

May i know since this is vlan spanning tree will overwrite the switch spanning -tree configuration?

Is there any in layman term to simplify this vlan spanning tree concept and explanation?

Between the main core switches, there is a port-channel configured. Thereafter distribution switches and floor switches connected to these 2 core switches.

Is there any standard design implementing Spanning -tree parameters in switches?
