Hello Experts,
I need to build a small infrastructure for around 100 employees. so decided to have edge switch 9300 series with mGig/PoE to connect servers and APs.
Shall I also build a stack of 9300 series SWs in core or it supports only layer 2 ?
Info: i am not considering 3850 for core area. What else option is there for core stack -Lay er3 ?
Thanks

The Catalyst 9300 is a Layer3 switch.
Pay close attention to the Essential and Advantage packages features to ensure the switch is capable of what you need.

Hi there,
If all 100 employees/ servers/ access-points are no further than 100m from your comms room, I would be inclined to not have a 2-teir network and instead choose a single modular switch.
A chassis which supports 4 linecards would cover your initial requirement, so opt for a bigger 7 or 8 slot chassis.
The Catalyst 4500E is excellent value compared to a stackable switch solution. If you have more money then opt for a Catalyst 9400.

9400 is too expensive and we are planing to have two small IT room means each room will have 2 switches in STACK and connection will setup with 20 gig between two IT rooms.
My question is will 9300 fulfill the routing for 2-5 vlans in LAN? or is it a pure layer 2 device!!
Thanks

The Cisco 9300 will be fine for routing 2 to 5 VLANs.
