Why does Catalyst 2960-C switch keep rebooting

We just bought a 2960-C PD 8PT switch.

The switch is delivered without powersupply. It is supposed to get power from a PoE port on another switch.

When I connect the Gigabit 1 or 2 port on the 2960-C to a PoE port on my 4507 switch the 2960-C switch starts the booting process.

After some time in the boot process:

          The password-recovery mechanism is enabled.

          64K bytes of flash-simulated non-volatile configuration memory.

Base ethernet MAC Address       : F8:4F:57:35:8A:80

          Motherboard assembly number     : 73-12988-05

          Motherboard serial number       : FOC17243149

          Model revision number           : B0

          Motherboard revision number     : B0

          Model number                    : WS-C2960CPD-8PT-L

          System serial number            : FOC1725Y0FM

Top Assembly Part Number        : 800-33532-01

Top Assembly Revision Number    : D0

          Version ID                      : V01

          CLEI Code Number                : CMMDT00ARA

Hardware Board Revision Number  : 0x01

Switch Ports Model              SW Version            SW Image

          ------ ----- -----              ----------            ----------

          *    1 10    WS-C2960CPD-8PT-L  12.2(55)EX2           C2960c405-UNIVERSALK9-M

then the 4507 port is error-disable and shuts down its port - and then the 2960-C is shut down.

After some time the 4507 enables the port again, and the 2960-C starts rebooting again...

Does anyone have an idea of how to fix this??

Regards,

Torleif

After some time the 4507 enables the port again, and the 2960-C starts rebooting again.

This sounds like someones configured BPDUGuard as well as error-disable recovery.

Can you post the output to the command "sh run | i recovery"?
