I have routed access layer ( Core - distribution - Access )

i plan to install the WLC in the main site and some of the AP on different sites can the WLC discover the AP through the IGP routing?

High level  - Sure as Long as Underlay AP IP reachable WLC can see the AP and able to provision.

Your setup standard most of the deployment.

WLC connected to CORE Switch  - Access switch where AP are connected with PoE, with DHCP option 43 the AP discovers WLC and Join to WLC.

make sense ?

AP will get IP and IP of WLC and send discovery as unicast to WLC even if it in other site.
