Hello!

Have a problem with device IOS upgrade.

Switch WS-3560-24T-S

Current IOS version c3560e-universalk9npe-mz.122-55.SE13.bin

Current bottloadr 12.2(53r)SE1

I want to upgrade ios to c3560e-universalk9npe-mz.152-4.E8.bin

I download ios from cisco.com and copy it to switch flash.

Then I change boot marker to new image and reload device.

Then in terminal I see:

And then switch load with old IOS.

What could be the problem?

Use the automated command "archive download-sw tftp://<TFTP IP ADDRESS>/filename.tar" to upgrade the firmware. Don't just copy the BIN file to the switch.

I try to update IOS as you said.

I copy tar file into usbflash, insert usbflash into switch and enter command:

archive download-sw usbflash0:c3560e-universalk9npe-tar.152-4.E8.tar

and then:

But after reload switch was loading with old image.

Easy enough to fix.
Kindly post the complete output to the following commands:
1. sh boot; and

Boot process failed...

The system is unable to boot automatically. The BOOT
environment variable needs to be set to a bootable
image.

switch:

boot flash:/c3560e-universalk9npe-mz.152-4.E8/c3560e-universalk9npe-mz.152-4.E8.bin

Of course I already do it after download new ios to SW.

Download new ios -> boot flash:/c3560e-universalk9npe-mz.152-4.E8/c3560e-universalk9npe-mz.152-4.E8.bin -> wr -> reload

And no effect.

After reload switch uncompressed both (c3560e-universalk9npe-mz.122-55.SE13 and c3560e-universalk9npe-mz.152-4.E8 ) image, but download with c3560e-universalk9npe-mz.122-55.SE13.

Regardless of the fact that before this another boot variable was set.

Ok, try using 12.2(55)SE and try that IOS again.

I try it, same problem.

If in internal flash 2 ios (old and new) located and boot = path to new ios - switch uncompressed old ios then uncompressed new and download with old ios.

If in internal flash 1 new ios and boot = path to new ios - switch after reload uncompressed new ios and go to rommon.

After all boot all boot change procedures I do "write mem" command.

Hi
Please post the show boot and dir flash:
did you save after changing boot statement or else it will just reload old too
also did you verify the md5 when the image was loaded onto the switch in case it got corrupt and match its output to the download section md5

example
verify /md5 flash:cat3k_caa-iosd-universalk9.SPA.152-2.E7b.pkg

Of course I save boot statement and verify ios image before change boot. Verify is OK.
