What version of IOS can this use? Or do I have to use the original? The original won't boot and I tried the upgrade to c2900xl-c3h2s-mz.120-5.WC17.bin

This is the enterprise version and my understanding is that it will not work on the -A. How can I obtain the original IOS that this works with. I obtained this2nd hand and it did not boot some am guessing that someone messed with the Bin.

Todd,

You have to have a service contract with Cisco and CCO account to download IOS images.  If this is a second hand device and no contract, then you can not download any other version for it. You just have to try to recover the existing image, if possible

This link is for password recovery, but see if you can boot to Rommon and find the image on the flash

  Is this a 4 meg or 8 meg model ?  A show version will tell you that ..  You can go here to download a version you need .

It's the 4/8 mb ?

The site says it uses the 12.05 yet everything I've seen says this is not the enterprise version and it won't run the newer versions.

I can't seem to get it to see my tftp server for anything. I'm trying the

xmodem with >copy xmodem flash:c2900xl-c3h2s-mz.120-5.WC16.bin

  and it then says >source filename [xmodem]  then destination fileNAME [c2900xl-c3h2s-mz.120-5.WC16.bin]  then comes up with error and never prompts me to start xmodem on hyperterminal. I did manage to switch to 115,000 so maybe thats the problem. I just can't get it back to 9600 now.

I'm going to slap myself for you.  Forgot the : after x

modem.  Giving the c2900xl-c3h2s-mz.120-5.WC16.bin a whirl.

cranks right along at 115k.
