Hello @SKVN Yes, u can do a direct upgrade from 15.2(2)E7 to 15.2(7)E12 on a C2960X-24TS-LL switch, both versions are within the same 15.2(E) train, so no intermediate step is required.
Just make sure to:
Cisco 2960-X Software Downloads: https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/switches/catalyst-2960-x-series-switches/series.html
hope it helps and ping me if u have more questionss...

Did you review the release notes?
If there are any prerequisites, they should be noted.
Also, on low end switches, they seldom have prerequisites, but they (rarely) might, which is why release notes should be reviewed.
BTW, although @Enes Simnica mentions insuring you use a LAN Lite version, it appears to me, only a universal version is available. If so, that should be fine.
I also suggest saving current running config and running IOS, off the switch, before moving forward on an IOS update.

Do not upgrade to 15.2(7)E12 because of CSCwo56969.
This bug will not be found in the Release Notes. This is intentional.
My suspicion is because the developers do not want to spin up a re-build or another release just to fix this bug.

Oh my, it's even a gold star suggested release for the 2960X.

15.2(7)E13 was released on 19 September 2025 but the Release Notes is still pointing to 15.2(7)E12. Therefore, it is not known if CSCwo56969 is fixed in this release or not.

I can confirm it is not fixed in 15.2(7)E13.

Has everyone who run into CSCwo56969 used DNA for the upgrade, or have there been companies trying to do it the "old fashioned" way that have run into it as well? Or do we not have that information (yet?)?
The bug doesn't even list the 2960 as an impacted device, nor does it say if 15.2(7)E13 is a fix.
I've a case open but am stuck in "Sherlock Holmes" AI hell at the moment.
