WS-C2960X-48FPS-L Speed Issue

Hi There, 

I am new to Cisco, I have some query I hope that I will solve my issue here. 

We purchased 2 (WS-C2960X-48FPS-L) and 2 (WS-C2960X-24PS-L) switches. 

I just open and install into rack but on PC's Lan connection is showing 100 Mbps only, I think that some configuration has to be made, 

if yes could some please help to solve this issue.

Hi,

As you mentioned that switch is in the default configuration and interface speed will in auto-negotiation mode. There are many reasons behind this:

1. Can you verify your laptop? Is it supporting 1Gbps? Is there any hardcore speed configuration on NIC?

: Change the laptop with 1Gbps supported or hardest speed to 1Gbps on laptop NIC.

2. Which type of media used between Switch and laptop? Is it Cat6 cable and how much the length of cable?

: Take one Cat6 patchcord and install on switch port and laptop. Don't use any existing cabling.

3. Did you checked Interface speed configuration in switch configuration:

: Try with a command under the interace:

Speed 1000

duplex full
