WS-C2960X-48TS-L and CP-7961G Problame

Hello!
Can anyone suggest how to solve this problem?

We have over 300 ip-phone model CP-7961G, firmware — *SCCP41.9-4-2SR3-1S* (last firmware)
We have over 40 switches model Cisco WS-C2960X-48TS-L (15.2(7)E0a, but the older version have the same effect).

We connect phone to switch with hole «net», connect phone with power calbe «cube-3» and waite untill phone is going up — it is normal working mode.
Then we putt off power cable, in this moment we see that port in switch going to down, after 30 seconds we see that port is going up and see that  mac addresses from vlan which is allowed on this port begin to accumulate…

Video:

Problame we see only on Cisco WS-C2960X-48TS-L with cisco 7961G, with other phone and switch's — no problame.

Hi,

You may be hitting the CSCuz92903 bug. Can you please try to configure either "no keepalive" or "speed auto 100 1000" under the interface where the phone is connected and see if there is any difference.

Best regards,

Antonin

So the link bounces every 30 seconds?
Is LLDP turned on?

no!

After power off ip phone - port is going down and after 30 second port is going up and on the port the status is connected until it is either disabled by command shutdown or physically turned off.

Yes - LLDP and CDP we turn off/on - problame the same

Is there a PC connected to the phone?

no difference. we tried with or without a computer. the example given here is without a computer

yes, it is solved our problame.

But it is intresting - bug date 2016/2017 year.

we have latest firmware flash:c2960x-universalk9-mz.152-7.E0a.bin", and we have the same problame...

it is not the end....

i try to write this command on all of switch that i have with this problame.

after some time mac on the port that work "OK" disappeared.... and we have another problame :(

Hi,

Thanks for the feedback. In my view you should first replace your IOS version. The commands are meant as a workaround only not the final solution. Out of these two I would return keepalives back and stay with the "speed auto 100 1000" only. At the moment I have only Cat2960Xs with PoE in my lab and these are not prone to this bug so I cannot test the suitable IOS version for you. Provided you are entitled to raise TAC cases you should go that way if not will you please contact your Cisco supplier.

Best regards,

Antonin
