Hello,
One of our customer just bought this switch which is connected through 2 trunk links to another switch, where it's getting it's power from over PoE.
He did not bought an separate power supply, and whenever we plug in an PoE device or just an laptop the port does not go up.
When I do an show power inline I get this output. (the trunk links are ports 9 + 10).
Available:0.0(w) Used:0.0(w) Remaining:0.0(w)
Interface Admin Oper Power Device Class Max
(Watts)

Gi0/7 auto off 0.0 n/a n/a 30.0
Gi0/8 auto off 0.0 n/a n/a 30.0
Does anyone has any idea why the ports does not seem to work?
We already tried a reboot and a shut/no shut.
Please let me know if you require additional info.
Thank you

Hi,
3560C PD PSE Switch 8 GE PoE, 2 x 1G Copper Uplink, IP Base, which support POE for 8 ports. Uplinks are not POE.

Goodmorning Abdul,
Thank you for your reply,
but the switch is powered by 2 trunk uplinks as I understood.
There's no power supply/adapter connected to the switch currently, except connected to another switch over those 2 uplinks.
Can you please clarify what you mean?
Thank you in advance!

Hi Daniele,
your switch 3560CPD-8PT-S is PoE. But it depends on if uplinks provides enough power for this switch. Regarding configurarion of PoE please read manual below.
Please check if your switch is connect via PoE+ or Cisco UPOE technology.
Also please check this document 1-6 section

Hello Jan Rolny,
Thank you very much for your links,
The uplinks are providing PoE 15.4W each port, as I understood from the tables (table 1-2, page 1-8), the available PoE budget is 7W.
Does this mean it's 7W per port? or 7W total? Since when I connect 1 ip phone (6.3W) it should work right? I probably should prioritize the port or something like that?
I've tested it with 1 IP phone and it does not work. Even though I connect an laptop it does not work. Show interfaces status shows 'notconnect'.
Can you tell me if I interpreting it correctly?
Thank you very much

Hello,
i have 2 cisco WS-C3560CPD-8PT-S Switches.
Switch Ports Model SW Version SW Image

I have also an Linksys LAPAC1200 AccessPoint with PoE.
The AP works fine, also with another siwthc with PoE no Problem.
But with the Cisco Switch, it wont come up
Switch tells me:

Can anybody help me?
Also a PoE Door Bell has the same problem, with the same message.
The other switch is the same.
These devices never consume more than 15W.
Whats the reason, and how can i get the devices run?
Thanks.
