WS-C3850-24U Power Supply A container off (other)

Hello all,

I have a WS-C2850-24U being monitored by our system.

We are receiving alerts that our "Switch 1 - Power Supply A Container" is currently "off ( other)".

We also see values for "Switch 1 - Power Supply A Normal" and "Switch 1 - Power Supply B Normal" to be "normal".

The OID that is being used to monitor the Power Supply A Container is: cefcFRUPowerOperStatus

While the OID that is being used to monitor the Power Supply A/B Normal is: ciscoEnvMonSupplyState

These values are being retrieved by our monitoring system from the switch via SNMP.

show environment power all
SW PID Serial# Status Sys Pwr PoE Pwr Watts
-- ------------------ ---------- --------------- ------- ------- -----
1A PWR-C1-1100WAC LIT204424AK OK Good Good 1100
1B PWR-C1-1100WAC LIT20443KGX OK Good Good 1100

We cannot find anything wrong with the power supplies on this switch ( nothing in logs), so we are at a loss.

What does Power Supply A - Container refer to? Is it different from Power Supply A Normal?

And does this indicate something is wrong with our power supplies - or perhaps we are misinterpreting it.

Any suggestions would be great.

Thank you,

Vivia

Same problem here, but 3850 and 48 ports.

That is a bug in the version of the software you are running. If you upgrade, the issue most likely will go away.

 - Sometimes this is related to software bugs , use latest advisory release for your model , check if that can help.
