Hello Friends,

we have WS-C6513-E ( IOS 15.0(1)SY7a ) with VS-SUP2T-10G.
We started receiving the following errors :

from show log :

%C6KENV-4-MINORTEMPALARM: EARL 7/0 device-1 temperature crossed threshold #1(=110C). It has exceeded normal operating temperature range.
%C6KENV-4-MINORTEMPALARM: EARL 7/0 device-2 temperature crossed threshold #1(=110C). It has exceeded normal operating temperature range.

environmental alarms:
system minor alarm on module 7 EARL device-1 temperature (raised 12:56:30 ago)
system minor alarm on module 7 EARL device-2 temperature (raised 12:56:30 ago)

environmental alarm thresholds:

module 7 EARL device-1 temperature: 110C
threshold #1 for module 7 EARL device-1 temperature:
(sensor value >= 110C) is system minor alarm
threshold #2 for module 7 EARL device-1 temperature:
(sensor value >= 125C) is system major alarm
module 7 EARL device-2 temperature: 111C
threshold #1 for module 7 EARL device-2 temperature:
(sensor value >= 110C) is system minor alarm
threshold #2 for module 7 EARL device-2 temperature:
(sensor value >= 125C) is system major alarm

The fans are OK .
The air flow to the device is not blocked.
We upgraded IOS version but it didn't help.
We checked Cisco bug toolkit but we didn't find any bug related to our issue.

What else can we do ?  Is only option to replace SUP ?

Thank you.

Hi,

The next thing you can do is to open a TAC ticket with Cisco. They may already have a solution for it.

Kindly try this:

1- Remove the Fan tray and check if its clean.

2- Reseat the module 7 once.

3- I am assuming you already check the air flow and there is nothing blocking near the switch.
