WS-X6704-10GE on board 256MB memory is ok with DFC3BXL ?

Hello, I have a question, on mainboard of module WS-X6704-10GE with CFC card i see simm module (256MB). What is the purpose of this memory simm ?

If I install the card WS-X6700-DFC3BXL with 1GB RAM, need I change this 256mb to 1GB also ?

Hi,

256MB is the default on board memory.  If you need to have 1GB memory, than you need to order the memory and upgrade it to 1GB.

Yes, I know that from Cisco material but question is "Need I to change the default 256MB to 1GB ram during upgrade CFC to DFC3bxl ?"
