Hi,
My client has some 2960x connected to PWR-RPS2300.
We have an issue were the power is not restored from the RPS to the internar power supply after a power outage.
If the power fails on the internal power supply the RPS will backup the system, but when the power is restored to the internal PS it doesn't cycle back.
Even with power in the internal PS, running the "sh env power" command it says power is unavailable
SW PID Serial# Status Sys Pwr PoE Pwr Watts
---- ------------------ ---------- --------------- --------- ------- --------
1 Built-in Unavail
To restore power to the internal PS i have to access the switch and issue the command to put the RPS port in standby and then in active again. After that the sh env power will show the system power as "Good".
Is this a system bug? Is there a way to make the internal PS automataclly start providing power after power outage?
Thanks in advance for your help
Best Regards

Long time since I used RPS but as I recall that is by design and mentioned specifically in the docs - I'll look for it ...
This is the key bit - why it doesn't switch back automatically:
https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/switches/power_supplies/rps2300/hardware/installation/guide/2300hig/rpsinst.html
The switch connected to the RPS 2300 might restart when it changes from RPS power to its internal power. We recommend that you first divert switch traffic to an alternate switch to avoid data loss.
