C40 Multisite call

Hello all,

I have to configure Multisite/multiway,

We have VCSc and MCU.

and endpoints as C40's,ex90 and MXP1700.

Ex90 has Multisite license, but for C40 its not. Iam able to do P2P Calls and then adding other endpoints to the existing call from EX90.

We have a VCSc and MCU.

How can i configure multiway using MCU?  I tried to configure a alias in VCS, conference factory- 22228

and the template 22%%@vcs.com

Conference factory status is active. Added 22228 as multiway addrs on c40's.My Service Prefix for MCU Conference is 8.

Do i need to configure a permanent conference in MCU?

Do i need to configure permanent conference as 22228?

My SIP domain is vcs.com

Rgds

Bobby

Hi Bobby,

on the EX90 check that you have added the multisite key. TC5 version would not harm neither.

Do not use a version

Some generic endpoint support info:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/telepresence/infrastructure/articles/cisco_telepresence_mcu_configure_multiway_kb_166.shtml

You can only have multiway or multisite, so if you have already configured the EX90 for multiway,

that will be the reason why you cant add an other local call, these features are exclusive to each other.

If you remove the multiway address it should work again with multisite.

Regards multisite conf, check on the

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/telepresence/infrastructure/vcs/config_guide/Cisco_VCS_Multiway_Deployment_Guide_X7.pdf

In short you need to enable autocreateing of conferences with no pin number prompt and have a MCU prefix

registration fitting your conference factory setting, not overlapping with your other conferences / tms

Besides that I recomend checking out the vcs, mcu and endpoint admin guides http://tandberg.com/docs is a good start

Thanks Martin,

I done Multiway and its working fine with Tandberg Endpoints, but  i have an integration with CUCM, where i cannot join the conference from cisco phones.

Any clue? Do there is any problem to join Multiway conference from Cisco phones?

Bye

Bobby

Did you see the CUCM section in the Multiway guide?

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/telepresence/infrastructure/vcs/config_guide/Cisco_VCS_Multiway_Deployment_Guide_X7.pdf

  1. Cisco VCS configuration: with CUCM

For details about the configuration needed in CUCM to support Multiway, see the “Cisco TelePresence Multiway and CUCM” appendix in the Cisco VCS and Cisco Unified Communications Manager Deployment Guide CUCM 6.1, 7, 8 and X7.0.

  2. Note that the CUCM must be configured to allow dialing to the Cisco VCS domain to which Multiway aliases are registered – this is documented in the “Allow dialing to Cisco VCS domain from Cisco phones” appendix in the same deployment guide.
