Cisco codec sx80 sip configuration

Hi,

I have a codec sx80 and also a CUCM. Its the only endpoint that i have and i would like for it to make web-based calls like to bluejeans, zoom and webex once i have the meeting ID. Also make sip calls to other exptensions/ phone numbers. We do not want to be hosting any calls.

I have gotten a suggestion is to get the below licenses

  • cucm license for the codec
  • an Expressway Rich Media Session

the Expressway rich media session license is for setting up a VCS which requires 132GB if HDD space and 6GB ram.

I think this is a too expensive solution for one endpoint.

is there any suggestion that can configure the codec to make bluejeans calls at a cheaper rate?

Yes, if you will always be calling to a bridging service set the SX80 up in Standalone mode and Dial with H323.  Annex O will still allow you to dial the URI as you're used to.  To my knowledge Blue Jeans and Zoom support this as well as WebEx.

Standalone setup settings can be found here:  https://supportforums.cisco.com/t5/telepresence/sx20-as-standalone/td-p/2062172

Deploying the SX80 as a standalone endpoint is your only other option, unless you want to purchase licenses and stand up additional servers, which would give you a true B2B solution. See Vivek's post in the thread that schaef350 provided in his reply on how to deploy a standalone endpoint.
