Cisco DX80 Standalone Wireless LAN Adapter Static IP Address Support

Anas Hafez

 Network [1] IPv4 Assignment: Static

IP Address, GW & Subnet Mask Assigned

DX80 IPv4 Address is what it takes from Wi-Fi DHCP

I have tried this at a customer site multiple times even used a mobile hot spot, tried firmware downgrade, CLI Commands for IP & factory reset and it didn't work (means stills assigned DHCP IP & not the static one)

So what i want to confirm is did any one actually tried this before in lab or is there an official Cisco Guide that says the endpoint supports that ?

Tried Firmware Versions:

CE8.3.7

CE10.?? (don't actually remember the full path right now)

Note:

We solved the issue at the end by using Ethernet but i wanted to confirm the above

Hello,

It is not supported to configure wifi settings on DX80 device.

It will just show the available wifi networks and you can connect anyone via putting credentials(if there) apart from this you can not configure anything related to wifi.

Please see the below admin guide for your version-

https://www.cisco.com/c/dam/en/us/td/docs/telepresence/endpoint/ce83/dx70-dx80-administrator-guide-ce83.pdf

(check -" NetworkServices WIFI Allowed page 84/ 85 )

Thanks

Thanks Anurag for your helpful reply but does that mean that the Network settings part in the document (Page 74) relates only to the Ethernet ? , i find it somehow strange that nothing in these configuration (Network [1] IPv4 Address,Network [1] IPv4 Gateway etc.) explicitly states that they are only intended for Ethernet connection and not Wi-Fi !

Hi Anas,

Yes that is only for ethernet connection not for WiFi

As i mentioned you will not be able to configure anything regarding WiFi

You can raise a feature request for that through you Cisco account teams with proper business justification

May be they will include in feature releases if possible.

Thanks
