Hi I got a temprature issue at some Codec`s C40-C90.
try to do the xstat sys comand:
xstatus SystemUnit Hardware Temperature
But only got:
xstatus SystemUnit Hardware Temperature
*r Status (status=Error):
Reason: No match on address expression
XPath: Status/SystemUnit/Hardware/Temperature
** end
Is there another comand or is this cmd. Sw.Release related?
Software Version: "TC4.2.1.265253"

Hi Petter,
The temperature stats were only included after TC 5. I can see that you're using an older software. Please upgrade and you should be able to see the details.
Hope this answers your question.

Hello,
maybe we can enable root using "systemtools rootsettings on
/sys/class/i2c-adapter/i2c-0/0-0070
[C60-in-TP-lab-CUCM-controlled:/sys/class/i2c-adapter/i2c-0/0-0070] $ cat *temp*
59.5
76.0
41.5
cat: max_temp3: Function not implemented
cat: max_temp4: Function not implemented
cat: max_temp5: Function not implemented
cat: max_temp6: Function not implemented
cat: max_temp7: Function not implemented
47.0
65.5
28.0
cat: temp3: Function not implemented
cat: temp4: Function not implemented
cat: temp5: Function not implemented
cat: temp6: Function not implemented
cat: temp7: Function not implemented
[C60-in-TP-lab-CUCM-controlled:/sys/class/i2c-adapter/i2c-0/0-0070] $
Does that read out something?

System temperature information available by using “xsta systemunit” API command as well as WebGUI while codec running TC4.2.3 (or newer version of TC4 software branch) or TC5.1.0 (or newer version of TC 5 software branch).
Please note system management and monitoring with root account access (and use Linux command) should keep minimum as it not design to monitor system in under normal operation.

Hi all,
Thanks for your answers. We have planned an upgrade run, just need to find time...
Got these when I logged in to a already upgraded C40 who’s running:
Software version:
TC5.1.4.295090
Then I got this:
*s SystemUnit Hardware Temperature: "63.0"
I where a bit surprised of the high working temperature 63 degree Celsius. Whats the max/low working temp?

Hi Petter,
The max temperature for the codecs is 65 degree Celsius.
Please mark the thread resolved if your question is answered.

Hi Petter,
I can't tell what is min temperature; however maximum temperature is 80 degree celsius after that Codec will shutdown by it self.
Codec can work on 63 degree celsius.

Vivek

You can check the max temperature using the command I sent earlier from root :
cd /sys/class/i2c-adapter/i2c-0/0-0070
[C60-in-TP-lab-CUCM-controlled:/sys/class/i2c-adapter/i2c-0/0-0070] $ cat *temp*
59.5
76.0
41.5
cat: max_temp3: Function not implemented
cat: max_temp4: Function not implemented
cat: max_temp5: Function not implemented
cat: max_temp6: Function not implemented
cat: max_temp7: Function not implemented
47.0
65.5
28.0
cat: temp3: Function not implemented
cat: temp4: Function not implemented
cat: temp5: Function not implemented
cat: temp6: Function not implemented
cat: temp7: Function not implemented
[C60-in-TP-lab-CUCM-controlled:/sys/class/i2c-adapter/i2c-0/0-0070] $
So we have :
max_temp0 59.5 current_temp0 47.0
max_temp1 76.0 current_temp1 65.5
max_temp2 41.5 current_temp2 28.0
In my EX90 all temperatures are below their max value so system does not halt.
The termperatures are measured on different areas within the system. I do not have access to any hardware documents, so cannot answer where these are located, but I can say that the max operating temperatures are the values you can find in that specific directory named /sys/class/i2c-adapter/i2c-0/0-0070
These are not ambient termperatures, but the temperatures measured on the board(s).
Regards,
Danny.

Please note that max temperature record on most codec is from system test (heat test) a part of manufacturing.
Therefore even max temperature shows “76.0” or higher value, it may not mean codec have reached 76.0 deg. in current deployment/location.
Number and location of temperature sensors in codec are very depend on codec model.
It's important to see what is current temperature and fan speed.
Codec is designed to increase fan speed when internal temperature increase and controlling internal temperature by creating additional air flow.
