Configure Telepresence SX10 for external SIP calls

Hi,

I have a Cisco Telepresence sx10 registered to a CUCM 11.5. The telepresence works fine internally with devices registered with CUCM.

So I configured Expressway-C/E. I created a DNS zone which gives access to calls at any domain. I tested the configuration which works fine with SIP TCP.

I installed a public certificate on Expressway-Edge, which is correct and trusted as i tested it. Somehow I cannot make sip tls calls to other SIp tls domains which are verified by the way. I am testing with Skype for Business federated sip tls domains.

When I make outbound calls from the logs in the Expressway-Edge i get:

2017-02-01T11:02:08.481+01:00 tvcs: Event="Call Rejected" Service="SIP" Src-ip="192.168.120.24" Src-port="25290" Src-alias-type="SIP" Src-alias="sip:273@albcontrol.local" Dst-alias-type="SIP" Dst-alias="sip:lync.user1@voice.gov.al" Call-serial-number="aece6e1d-9ab2-4de1-b1eb-9ee67b672f52" Tag="86705b34-27b9-4202-bb83-b70f8bdde605" Detail="Not Found" Protocol="TCP" Response-code="404" Level="1" UTCTime="2017-02-01 10:02:08,481"

It seems like the request goes for SIP not SIP TLS. My telepresence is configured for SIP TCP connection with my CUCM. The CUCM is configured with SIP trunk with Expressway-C. The traversal zone between Expressway-c and E is configured with TCP

When I make Inbound calls from Skype for Business client of the other domain I get:

404 Not Found
ms-diagnostics: 1034;reason="Previous hop federated peer did not report diagnostic information";Domain="albcontrol.al";PeerServer="edgee.albcontrol.al";source="sip.voice.gov.al";OriginalPresenceState="0";CurrentPresenceState="0";MeInsideUser="Yes";ConversationInitiatedBy="0";SourceNetwork="0";RemotePartyCanDoIM="No"

sx10@albcontrol.al is the Directory URI of the telepresence which is configured in Directory number in CUCM.

Do I need to have this DNS record externally? It didn't seem to be on the requirements.

What else am I missing here?

Thanks

Julian

If a device is registered to CUCM, it will use CUCM for ALL calls, in such scenario, you would need EXP-C/E to configure B2B, or use the device as standalone.

Hi Jaime,

Can you please advice on how to use the device as standalone? Do I have to Nat SIP traffic to the Device's Ip or to use a public Ip for the Device? On the other hand, Should I use a SIp address or direct ip?

What record on external DNS do I have to configure?

There are plenty of threads on how to configure one of these types of devices as a standalone endpoint - do a search for "sx20 standalone" and you will see many threads.

Note: Your question would be better placed in the TelePresence section of the forums where these devices are more actively discussed than in the Video Over IP section you've posted in - I'd suggest, if the above hasn't answered your query, that you move your discussion over there (you can do this by editing your original post and changing the category at the bottom).
