Distance education with SX 20

Hi,

There are three points (A, A1 and B) that need to be connected. A and A1 are different rooms in the same building, B is in the other city.

Lecturer is in room A, students in A1 and B.

In room A: SX 20 (Dual display, Premium resolution), PrecisionHD 1080p 12x camera, televison with HDMI port.

Room A1: Televion with HDMI port, converter that connects HDMI port of the TV with HD-SDI port of PrecisionHD 12x camera in Room A.

Room B: SX 20 (Dual display, Premium resolution) PrecisionHD 1080p 12x camera, televison with HDMI port.

Is it a working solution? Is there any way to also display presentation from lecturer notebook without buying third SX 20, i.e. streaming?

Yes, you may connect three SX20 as long as Room A1 and Room B has network connectivity between Room A bidirectional.

SX20 support web snapshot so may see presentation (much less frame rate) on SX20 Web GUI (if snapshot is enabled locally), but size of view are limited.

And also SX20 does not support streaming feature.

Thanks for reply.

What about connecting SX 20 to HDMI port and TV's HDMI port to HD-SDI port of PrecisionHD 12x camera   with HD-SDI to HDMI converter?

What are you trying to archive by connecting PHD Camera for Room A system to TV in Room A1?

If you are planning to display speaker view by directly connecting PHD camera to TV in Room A1 but have audio and presentation over IP connection by using SX20, I won’t recommend it.

Regardless you use SIP or H.323 for connecting SX20 in Room A and Room A1, there will be call processing and network delay, therefore having direct video on TV from PHD Camera from Room A will cause lip sync issue and students in Room A1 won’t be comfortable on video/audio playing in Room A1.
