Hi ,

I have got DX70/DX80 Phones registered to Cisco Call Manager.

My query is that : can we extend the video output of DX70/DX80 to Sony/Panasonic LED screen on HDMI port?

regds,

aman

It's possible for the DX70, but not for the DX80, is also not possible when the HDMI input is in use as the input/output can't work simultaneously. Refer to the "Ports and slots" section in Table 2 of the DX70 and DX80 Data Sheets

Hello Aman - not being picky with terminology, but because you are using the word "extend" I wanted to clarify one point - as Patrick said you can use the HDMI out on the DX70 (if you are not using the HDMI input), but it is not extending the video like when you extend your desktop video to a second screen where each one is displaying different things, it is a mirror mode output. That is whatever is displayed on the DX70 main screen will be the exact same as what is displayed on the external LED - it won't separate video/content like it would on an MX with two screens.

thanks for reply .

after referring the datasheets of DX70 and DX80, DX80 says

  • High-Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) type A port for PC or Mac video input
●  High-Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) type A port output (reserved for future use)
while DX70 says
  •   High-Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) type A port for PC or Mac video input
HDMI type A port output (supports mirror-mode output; cannot be used simultaneously with the HDMI input)
In short, we can use HDMI port on DX70 to extend Video on LED screen.

Thanks to Patrick. Today I tested with DX70 and was able to get mirror image on LED screen.

Thanks to McCarthy for more clarification.
