Hi,

my boss has a EX90 on his desk wich makes some trouble. You turn the system on and the phone starts booting completley normal but the screen seems to be stuck in some kind of testing behavior. The screen is constantly switching from white -> grey -> red/green/blue/white -> blue -> black and then it starts all over again.

What can I do?

Hello,

this is strange indeed. Can you make a movie of how the screen is acting up?

I would suggest you login to the EX90 via the GUI and get the current logfiles.

Replace the IP address with your unit's IP address.

Can you also include, again from GUI, the status of the device?

Thanks!

Danny.

Hi,

thanks for the fast response. I've uploaded a video and the requested log files.

Thanks and kind regards

Tobias

Hello,

I sent the video to Oslo escalation since I never have seen an Ex90 behaving like this. Their answer was as follows :

"These patterns and test images are displayed by the LCD when it gets power but there is no image data and/or the clock signal is missing. The LCD does this do prevent pixel burnout when it gets power, and is probably also used for LCD testing by the LCD manufacturer. It is not 'our' factory test.  When this is seen on an EX90, the LCD gets power (5V) and back light is working, but as I said it gets no image data and/or corrupt clock signal, which again points towards a loose / broken flex cable from the LCD to the mainboard".

Hardware issue whereby the unit needs to be RMA-ed.

As a last logfile, you can check the Video Processor Engine [VPE1] to which the LCD is connected. If you have ssh access to the EX90 you type the commands below in boldface to check the LCD status more in depth.

This will not bring the EX90 back into working order, but it would be interesting to see the status of the LCD when it is showing these patterns.
