i have video conference units which operate as standalone "isnt registered on vcs or cucm" and natted thorugh firewaal using a public ip address, my problem is sometimes calling other parties isnt successful or sometimes there is no video or no audio , im wondering if i called a test loopback address and it worked okey does that mean my side is functioning fine? because at the occurence of calls issue it is diffuclt to determine who is causing the issue

Yes, if a call to a test loopback address works, then your end is fine.

There are also a lot of other non-loopback test sites out there which you can also use to prove your end is fine, e.g. this is a list of Polycom test numbers: http://support.polycom.com/PolycomService/support/us/support/documentation/video_test_numbers.html

The "no video or no audio" issue is normally firewall related, but again, if calling the test numbers works, then it's not your end which is at fault. Having said that, there are some applications out there which requires additional ports to be opened to work, but that shouldn't affect you if you are dealing with systems from the major vendors.
