HDCP

I have a few questions, they are:

  1. Does Cisco support HDCP 2.2 & 1.4 for local output to monitor
  2. How is the HDCP setting configured and what firmware version supports that feature (in the doc you sent it says CE 9.6.1, through API and only HDCP 1.4 is listed)

Thanks,

KJ

Hello Kirk - long time no see!

Cisco supports HDCP on some - but not all systems. See page 31 of the latest release notes:

https://www.cisco.com/c/dam/en/us/td/docs/telepresence/endpoint/software/ce9/release-notes/ce-software-release-notes-ce9.pdf

Per the release notes, version 1.4 only.

Enabling it is indeed via API, I just checked one of my endpoints, it's not in the web GUI.

As for versions, it depends on what specific endpoint, 9.6.1 added support for some that didn't previously have it, so if you just wanted to say "you need this" - go with CE9.6.1 or 9.7

Take a look at the admin guide for the endpoint you are interested in and it will tell you the command you need to run - it varies with the different endpoints because the port(s) that support HDCP will vary.

Hope this helps!

As @PJMack said, it's HDCP version 1.4, and you will need to be running a recent software load (at least CE9.6.1) on most of the Room Series endpoints to be able to see HDCP protected content locally (you are not able to transmit HDCP content while in a call).

WIth the more recent software versions (I checked in the latest available at the time of this post being CE9.7.1), the option to enable HDCP on selected inputs is available in the Web interface as well as being able to do it via the CLI.
