Yes, I can confirm that I see this as well on the more modern codian/cisco firmwares I checked.
You have the option under settings/security: Redirect HTTP requests to HTTPS, disable that,
reboot the device, access it via http and try again.
Guess its a feature to not cut away the branch you are sitting on.
But to be honest, whats the reason why you can not use https properly?
I would recomend that you use https anyhow. Dont you think the time is better spend on fixing that?
