ISDN Gateway 3200: Password protected auto attendant

Juergen Hornung

I searched thru the Documentation/online help without success. Is it possible to protect the auto attendant via password?

I want to enable IP2ISDN calls, for security reasons they must be password protected.

Thanks

Juergen

Hallo Jürgen!

If I remember it right there is not much what you can do with the AA/IVR on the ISDNGW.

When I shortly tested it it seemd that no PIN menu or a post AA dial dialplan could be sued

(like you enter 444412345, match on 4444 and stip it and just dial 12345).

So I would say no, its not possible.

I Would be happy if someone could correct me tand has some other idea.

If not this might be something for a feature request.

Are you afraid of internal or external missuse?

External you could address by using the vcs and authentication, specific search rules, cpls, ...

With in your organization its harder, but the above could also come in handy.

You could use a long and crytipc prefix to dial out, but at least for automated dial out its

easy to add if known, soit should be combined with the above.

If you need a AA/IVR to enter a PIN number you could combine it with the IPGW and also

some CPL which only allows calls from the IPGW to the ISDNGW.

If you just want to handle telephony calls, maybe your PBX could be integrated via sip/h323 to the VCS

and can offer pin / billing numbers, ...

Let us know what solution you found.

Hi Martin,

thanks for your reply. I'm aware of all of your solutions and some of it use it for now (cryptic prefix). But its not quite handy. As our users are aware of Tandberg IVR (the MCU ones are PIN protected) thought it would be best to provide

that at the ISDN gateways too. I'm surprised that there is no such option at the gateways...

Regards

Juergen
