If you purchase it now, you will receive a licence PAK. This isn't tied to any specific device at that point, but cannot be used until it is registered.
When you decide you want to install it, you will need to generate an option key on the licencing portal which needs to be assigned to a specific SX20 serial number. The licence is then tied to that one device and cannot be used on another device.
The process is described in the Option Keys scenario section of the Activation Key Process Self Service Guide.
