To whoever can assist.
We currently installed an SX20 system in 2 of our offices, Head office and a branch office. We currently have a WAN connection between the 2 offices with a 20MB connection between the two sites. Our branch office has about 30 feet of cable to go from the laptop to the CISCO codec. Our head office is about 50feet from the laptop to the codec.
we tested sending content through the laptop at the branch office to the head office and images and still content are fine, however as soon as we tried sending video over it was choppy and pixelated. When we send content straight to the tv from the same cord and same distance it displays no problem and when we watch a video from one location that resides on another that streams fine as well. I would assume that our connection between the two offices should be good enough as we get roughly a 5mb transfer rate on files. taking the firewall into consideration which will be replaced soon, are there specific ports for video that will help? is the codec just not strong enough to send the content through?

All inputs have a quality setting that determins how the content is being sent to the farsite. When it is set to sharpness which I beieve is the default for the PC input, it will send content at about 12fps or somewhere around there. When it is set to motion, it will send content at about a full 30fps.
Video Input Source [1..2] Quality
When encoding and transmitting video there will be a trade-off between high resolution and
high framerate. For some video sources it is more important to transmit high framerate than high
resolution and vice versa. The Quality setting specifies whether to give priority to high frame rate
or to high resolution for a given source.
Requires user role: ADMIN
Value space:
Motion: Gives the highest possible framerate. Used when there is a need for higher frame
rates, typically when a large number of participants are present or when there is a lot of
motion in the picture.
Sharpness: Gives the highest possible resolution. Used when you want the highest quality of
detailed images and graphics.
Example: Video Input Source 1 Quality: Motion
This might not be the direct answer to your problem, but it might help.

Hi Curtis,
Patrick is absolutely correct, I think you have by default configuration for quality I.e. sharpness and in case of sharpness content will be shared with good resolution; however with 12 fps. When you configure it with motion resolution will be low with good fps. So now configuration would be sharpness hence when you are sharing video it will be at low fps due to which it will choppy and pixelated.
Regards,
Vivek
