SX80 admin guide:

http://www.cisco.com/c/dam/en/us/td/docs/telepresence/endpoint/sx-series/tc7/administration-guide/sx80-administrator-guide-tc73.pdf

Assuming basic settings already configured on both SX80 codecs:

Configuration->Advance Configuration->Network->Netwok1 (see admin guide on page 83-84)

  • IP address
  • Subnetmask
  • Gateway
  • DNS

For SX80 to work as stand alone using IP to IP dialing:

  • Set H323 Call Setup mode to direct

Configuration->Advance Configuration->H323->Profile 1->Callsetup Mode: Direct (see admin guide on page 80)

Below are the ports that need to be opened bi-directionally on your firewall for a standalone SX80 to successfully make and receive calls to other H323 based endpoints.:

h323

Note: Port 1719 is not required if there is no Gatekeeper.

Hello Acevirgil ;

Thanks . Can we do it by SIP?

Yes, you can, but it's not as straight forward as when using H.323.

You need to give your systems a SIP URI address based on the IP address of your system. I.e. if your IP address is 123.456.7.8 then you could call it something like sx80@123.456.7.8 - and this is the address other systems would use to call you - if your system has a public IP address.

To make outbound calls you will always have to prefix the IP address with anything you want in front of @IP_address. This is to prevent the system from appending the SIP domain to the address. I.e. without the prefix, dialling 123.456.7.8 would end up as 123.456.7.8@domain.com.

Also bear in mind the system you are calling must have SIP turned on.

You are also able to call other systems using H.323 Annex O and SIP URI addresses as long as these systems are registered with a call control type device such as gatekeeper, VCS etc, as long as your system is running software version TC4.2 or later, e.g. Alias@domain.

Be aware if your systems have public IP addresses, that your are leaving the systems very vulnerable to SIP scans and H.323 spam calls.

Turning off SIP listening port might help, but it won't prevent the H.323 version getting through.

See https://supportforums.cisco.com/discussion/12336591/sourceh323idcisco-incomingcalls for more information regarding this.
