Hello, I thought i'd share this with the community in case it's helpful. Recently we discovered that if an SX10 is downgraded from CE8.x to TC7.x (in our case, CE8.1 to TC7.3.5), then audio is no longer carried over the HDMI output. After some experimentation we realized that the Configuration - Experimental - "Audio AudibleAndAudioPairingSoundRouting" is set to to 'Split' and THIS is what turns off HDMI audio out. The correct setting should be: 'HdmiAndLineOut'.
Note that the "experimental" menu is hidden in the web interface, so you'll have to search for "Experimental" to reveal this menu. You can also go directly to that setting by searching for "Routing".
The SSH command would be:
xConfiguration Experimental Audio AudibleAndAudioPairingSoundRouting: HdmiAndLineOut
(And yes, of course we try to use the 3.5mm analog line out to an external loudspeaker instead of HDMI audio out to embedded TV loudspeakers whenever possible for improved echo cancellation.)

I know you said you fixed the issue, however I would recommend opening a case with TAC and have them take a look at the issue, they can create a bug for the issue and look at getting it fixed or at least documented.

Experienced the same issue and also, HDMI in for content no longer passes audio. If anyone knows how to re-enable the HDMI content audio in, please share. ( I tested with a non-downgraded system and audio passes fine)

You're hitting bug CSCvb27626, the workaround is to downgrade to TC7 software and perform a factory reset, then upgrade back to CE8.

Hi I just wanted some clarification. After a downgrade to TC7, and a factory reset is preformed, audio can be sent via HMDI while still on TC7.
Your statement says "downgrade to TC7 software and perform a factory reset, then upgrade back to CE8."

Disregard my question above. I have tried the factory reset after downgrading, and it does fix the issue while on TC7.
Thank You
