The problem/solution is likely in your infrastructure. What do you have VCS C/E? Or CUCM with Expressway C/E? If the former I'd look at your search rules and after placing a call look at your search history, call history, etc. My guess is there's something wrong there, your calls are not routing the most efficient way, but it's impossible to speculate without knowing more about the environment.
