Hi,
I did some test a few days ago with Cisco EX60 a the following infraestructure:
- UCM 8.6.2
- Cisco VCS Control X7.2.2
- Cisco EX60 Series
- Csco EX90 Series
- Cisco CIPC
- Cisco IP Phone
The goal was try to register the EX60 in SIP mode with UCM and H.323 mode in VCSc and make some calls with the EX60 register in both devices, because I didn't find any document where was indicated that only I can register EX60, EX90,... in VCS or UCM but not in both at the same time.
I have registered the EX90 in VCS and EX60 in both VCS (H.323) and UCM (SIP).
All the calls from EX60 to H.323 devices are sending to VCS Control, and all calls all working fine without any problem. If I try to call from EX90 to EX60 in SIP mode, the call will be failed. When the H.323 call between EX90 and EX60 is connected, in UCM and using RTMT I couldn't see the EX60 was in call or busy state.
- Audio call from IP Phone registered or CIPC in UCM to EX60: I could see the call in the Call Control in the EX60 and in RTMT and UCM but I couldn't see the call in Cisco VCS Control. If I try to call from EX90 to EX60 using H.323 in that moment, I received a busy tone from EX60. Too, if I do a audio call from EX60 to an IP Phone I can do another audio call from EX60 to a IP Phone or a EX90. To EX90 try to negotited Video but the calls finally was only audio.
- The presence isn't working when the EX60 is in call with other H.323 endpoint in UCM, too the BLFs aren't working and the call in UCM doesn't appear.
- If EX60 is in videoconference with EX90, the EX60 can receive a audio call from UCM and get connect, and the presence and BLFs are working fine.
I don't find more issues in this moment.
Regards.

That is not a setup which you want to use, either you register both to the VCSc or
let CUCM control your endpoint, then h323 should be kept disabled.

I totally agree with Martin. It is not a deployment to be used. I cannot even imagine what would lead you to setup an environment this way.
Some months ago I made some tests registering a SX20 to CallManager using SIP and using H323 do direct call setup to internet. I had some problems because the user must to specify the protocol when dialling, then I set default protocol to H323 and I created phonebook entries with "sip:xxxx@domain.com" in order to allow the users to dial CallManager endpoints, then the users don't have to choose protocol when dialling. Of course it is not some kind of "recommended solution", but it was a temporary solution until the customer purchase the complete solution including VCS Expressway.
But in your case, registering to VCS and CUCM at the same time, I can't imagine why you need to have it working.
I would suggest you to share with us why you need to setup this, so maybe we can suggest you another solution.

...because I didn't find any document where was indicated that only I can register EX60, EX90,... in VCS or UCM but not in both at the same time.
I cannot find a reference on documentation saying clearly that it does not work. But take a look at the page 11 of this guide:

From that statement, my understanding could be, "you cannot use H323 when registering SIP to CallManager". I also could understand it this way, "you cannot use H323 to register to CallManager".
Well, anyway, you can keep making your tests in order to have it working. Just keep in mind it is not a deployment.
Good luck.

Yes, I know that it isn't a deployment, but I just only make tests with the EX60 or EX90 register in UCM and VCS at same time.
This tests have been doing to put in your knowledge.
Best regards.
