TMS Provisioning Template Query - C 20

C20 Template.bmp

Above is a Screenshot of the provioning page for a C20 template on TMS 12.6., which includes QoS Diffserve settings.

However, when I push the Template to an existing C20 on the network I am not seeing QoS mode and Diffserve settings update - refer below screenshot. Other settings such as the video output resolution , ringtone and volume are updating okay.

Just NOT QoS. --Can anyone suggest anything to resolve this ?

C20 setting (Small).bmp

Many thanks

Rob,

You would need to upgrade your TMS server.  I believe between version 3 & 4 of the TC software for the C20 the settings path was changed for the QoS settings.

TC3.x

Network 1\IPv4\QoS

TC4.x

Network 1\QoS

If you were running TMS v13 you would have the choice of both options when creating a template, as you can see below.

Thanks,

Justin

Hi Rob!

Besides the point that it is always worth investigating to upgrade to the latest version

its often not that easy to be accomplished.

And at least for what you ask for, there is no need to upgrade your TMS.

You can simply define a custom template using the xml path for the required config parameters.

'An example for E20, MXP Series, C Series and EX Series that changes the system name to "System name test" is,
System name test
',

You find this quote and more info in the TMS Online help, (Help: Systems > Provisioning > Configuration Templates)

I did not test it, but for a TC4.1 device with the settings of your screenshot it is most likely something like:

Diffserv2424

Rob & Martin,

I was not aware of the custom command feature, that is something new to me.  Anyway, good to know.  I still think he should upgrade to gain the proper support for the new version of the software.  However Martin would be correct in that you would not need to upgrade, you can choose a custom command or config and be done with it.

If you choose to use the custom route, follow these directions:

Edit your configuration template

Click on 'Select Advanced Settings'

Filter by C series codec

Then search by 'custom configuration'

Add that value to the right

Go back to the Template Settings tab and enter the XML information according to Martin's example.

Thanks for the information Martin, good to know in a pinch.
