Video conference across IP WAN

Hello everybody,

There are 3 seperate IP telephony networks. These networks are connected via IP WAN. Each IP network has their own CUCM. What is needed to enable video conference between these 3 IP telephony networks?

Conference bridges? Gatekeepers? Any idea would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hi Fatih,

Conference Bridges : Yes, assuming you have desktop video endpoints connected via IP Phone, you will require the Cisco IPVC bridge in each site, integrated with the CUCM, this will help to have multiparty videoconference.

Gatekeepers: Yes, if you need to to control the voice/video bandwidth across WAN.

Let me know, if this answers your question.

Rgds,

Gifton Abel.

Thank you Gifton for your answer. So each site has to have a conference bridge, right?. What about gatekeeper? Does each side have to have gatekeeper or can I use only one gatekeeper in a say "centralized control zone"  which acts as a controller between networks? Can you provide/show a generic architecture?

Regards,

Fatih.

Hi,

Your infraestructure is like a Multisite Distributed Call Processing Model, if you see the Deployments Models you can check your infraestructure and choose the correct way to deploy it.

You can see this link about deployments models:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/partner/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucm/srnd/8x/models.html

You need in all sites Media Resources (Conference Bridges).

For Gatekeepers you can see the next link:

Regards.
