Webex Board compatibility with Miracast Adapter

Hi All,

Has anyone ever tried wireless screen-sharing using a Webexboard and a Miracast device. In theory, I would think it should work given Miracast tries to replicate a normal wired HDMI signal (this is my understanding - that might be incorrect) however after a few attempts we have been unable to get ours working?

The reason my boss wants to do this is so external parties can come in and screen-share wireless-ly without needing a webex account. We have done our testing so far using: https://www.microsoft.com/accessories/en-us/products/adapters/wireless-display-adapter-2/p3q-00001

Please advise if there is any documentation that either confirms or denies whether this will work.

Thanks in advance

Those Miracast devices use HDCP as they (incorrectly in my opinion) treat all content as copyright protected. As the Webex boards are "transmitting devices" they won't display HDCP protected content by default. You can however set one or more of the ports to HDCP mode - this will allow you to use an HDCP device, however you won't be able to transmit the content in-call, only display it locally. You'll want to be on the latest software (9.6.2).
See the CE9.6.1 release notes for details: https://www.cisco.com/c/dam/en/us/td/docs/telepresence/endpoint/software/ce9/release-notes/ce-software-release-notes-ce9.pdf
