1700MXP

I've just got a bunch of 1700MXP back from a customer and they have put a menu password on all of the systems and haven't documented what the password is. Now I need to access the settings in the systems to be able to reconfigure them. Is there any way of doing a factory reset or resetting the system when you don't have the password?

This has been documented in the past, see https://supportforums.cisco.com/discussion/11377676/resetting-1700mxp-menu-password

Hello,

how do I get into the system to change the menu password? is there a link or how do I do it? to do everything you said in the other message.

If the system is on the network and you know the ip address, then you can do this either through the API (web gui), telnet or ssh. If it's not on the network, then you need to use a serial cable and do the "triple e" reset as outlined in the other post.

Don't know if this will be of some help to you, see the "MXP section":
