Add API button to MX300 G2

I am using a third party (Starleaf) to handle recording from my telepresence units.  Starleaf has an API that I can reference to start and stop recording dynamically.  Is there a way to add this API button to the touch panel?  This is on an MX300 G2 version 8.3.1.

It might be possible using macros introduced in CE9.2.1.
