B2B call using SX20 from Internet to an Enterprise that have Expressway-E

Hi,

There are two independant company that wish to make Videoconference.

The first, companyA, has only a SX20 (H323 direct call like using Polycom hdx or realgroup), and have internet connexion.

The second, companyB, have a full UC with Expressway-E&C + CUCM + TPS + conductor + RMS licenses.

We want that the companyA make call to a CMR on the CompanyB.

How to do, is there any document that can help.

regards,

Antra

If the SRV records haven't

If the SRV records haven't been set up yet for a domain pointing to the Expressway E or the calling endpoint doesn't have a DNS server available for domain resolution, you may be able to use the IP address of the Expressway E instead of the domain, e.g. alias@ExpE_ipaddress.

In addition to Joe's comment,

In addition to Joe's comment, If external endpoints dial alias@Experssway_IP, a transform will need to be used on the Expressway-E to convert the IP into your SIP domain.

Configuration > Dial plan > Transforms

  • Pattern type: Suffix
  • Pattern string: %ip%
  • Pattern behavior: Replace
  • Replace string: (your SIP domain)

%ip% will match any IPv4 address configured on the server without needing to specify a specific IP address, it will match all.

All Cisco endpoints, and most

All Cisco endpoints, and most other manufacture's endpoints these days can or should be able to make URI calls using the format "alias@domain", refer to Appendix 2 of the Expressway Basic Configuration Deployment Guide (X8.9) on required DNS SRV records for B2B calls.

I assume you're CUCM and Expressway-C/E is configured correct, but just in case refer to the Expressway and CUCM via SIP Trunk Deployment Guide (CUCM 8,9,10,11 and X8.8).
