Guys,

I have Cisco Telepresence Content Server, i was able to login use username : administrator, password : cisco123. After that i try to change the username & password, but somehow it doesn't successfull. When i try to login use user : administrator and password : cisco123 it doesn't logon.

I try to do "restore default system" by CLI but i still can't login use user administrator and password cisco123.

Is there any way to restore password ?

Regards

Rizal

Hello there

If that is the case you can try recovery link in Internet Explorer:

http:///tcs/#page:login&rescue:true

That will prompt you for user name and password. You need to use credentials you used for remote desktop and you should be good to go!

Cheers!

Hello Rizal

Luckily this is very simple

You can restore TCS password to cisco123, but you will need to open TAC case for it and provide server serial number.

We will send you key file which you need to place in the root folder of the memory stick.

After entering key into one of the USB slots TCS will detect it and and you can restore password from LCD (gen1) or console (gen2).

Cheers

Dear Rafal,

I notify that there is two option partial restore and full restore. I have try to restore with that option, but it doesn't work (i still can't login) .

Is there any other way to reset it ? beside open TAC ? like other product (switch, router, ips, firewall, etc)

Is there any official cisco doc which explain this step (if want to reset password) ?

Update : I can make remote desktop connection (the OS is windows 2008) use username password i created previously.

Is there any way to reset username for web administration use other tool in this OS ?

Dear Rafal,

Thank you Fal, you are correct

But when i first try it, it say

"You may not log in to this Content Server in rescue mode. Only the default local  administrator account can use rescue mode to log in"

Then i try to create another account which has username : Administrator and password : xxx, after that it work.

Btw, is there any official documentation which explain this step ?

Hey Fara

Please check this admin guide from page 94 onwards:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/telepresence/tcs/5_0/administration/guide/tcs.pdf

I guess would be good to read whole thing . There is a lot of good stuff there.

Cheers!
