Cisco Profile Dual audio not working

Lee Saldanha

Hello. I have a Cisco TelePresence Profile 52/55 Dual running TC6.1.1.7d7af15 which was factory reset and, after reconfiguration, is presenting audio issues. Audio simply does not work anymore (people in the room cannot hear).

Speaker cables were checked and look fine. Configs are as below. Any suggestions in addition to upgrading the software? I do not think we have a license for TC7... Thank you for any help!

With regard to your TC7 licence - if your device is covered by an active service contract, you should be able to retrieve a licence key from the Cisco Licencing Portal: http://www.cisco.com/go/licence

It you don't have an active service contract you can contact the TAC and reference the recent GNU Bash secuirty advisory to get a "free" upgrade to TC7.2.1 as per the "Customers without service contracts" section.

Hi Lee,

Yes, that is correct, you can only get licences through the portal if you have an active service contract.  If it's still in a "SIGNED" status and isn't "ACTIVE" yet, you'll need to go through the TAC as per the security advisory linked in my previous post.

Note: Since TC6.1.0, there was a change in the release key polcy, so firmware versions later than TC6.1.0 no longer require you to have a new release key for major version upgrades.  The endpoint just must have a release key, from any version, present on the device.  So, if you have the software (or obtain it via the TAC) you can upload it to your device without requiring a TC7 key.

Thanks, Wayne! I have gone to the licensing portal you recommended but our device's contract shows "SIGNED" (SC End 03/18/2016), which leads to an error: "Upgrade is only allowed for TelePresence Products having ACTIVE service contract"

Any other recommendations? Thanks again!

Hi,

can you get the release key for T7.2.1 version ?

if yes, apply the release key before doing the upgrade.
