Cisco Telepresence endpoints and Startup Scripts

Hi All,

I have telepresence endpoints connected through EDGE provisioning. With provisioning enabled, endpoints are getting address book informations from CUCM. I would like to change the address book link permanently. If I change the link, it is unchanged until next reboot, next reregistration,... If I set the startup script, it will run the script before provisioning setup. Do you have any ideas, how can I accomplish this.

BR,

Hi Sebastjan,

MXP has separate phonebook and provisioning configurations.

for phonebook:

xconfiguration corporatedirectory mode: on

xconfiguration corporatedirectory address: IP address of CUCM

xconfiguration corporatedirectory path:https://ipaddress:8443/cucm-uds/users

for provisioning:

xconfiguration externalmanager address:

xconfiguration externalmanager path:

please make sure your external manager address is of CUCM.

Hi Amit,

Long time no see..

I am refering to EX90 and SX20 endpoints.

Endpoint gets the https://ipaddress:8443/cucm-uds/users configuration. But I would like to set it to custom link. And I can. But after restart the default is configured again. I would like to find a way to make it custom all the time...

Hi Sebastjan,

yes long time.

is it also provisioned with CUCM ?

xConfiguration Phonebook Server 1 ID: "default"

*c xConfiguration Phonebook Server 1 Type: CUCM

*c xConfiguration Phonebook Server 1 URL: "https://:8443/cucm-uds/users"

*c xConfiguration Provisioning Mode: CUCM

*

*c xConfiguration Provisioning ExternalManager Address:

*c xConfiguration Provisioning ExternalManager Protocol: HTTP

*c xConfiguration Provisioning ExternalManager Path: ""

*c xConfiguration Provisioning ExternalManager Domain: ""

*c xConfiguration Provisioning Connectivity: Auto

if this is changing after restart or reboot, this is something related to provisining

try to disable provisioning by xConfiguration Provisioning Mode: off and check if it still changes or not.

If provisioning is Off, then the registration fails. So after setting mode to Off, the endpoint unregisters. And then I set it to Edge again, and it is registered, with all settings changed from CUCM. So I need to run Startup Script again, to set all needed settings to required.

Any more clues?

yes, provisioning may cause your device to unregister if it is set to off.

however, provisioning and phonebook settings are separate on SX20 and EX90, so even though it is unprovisioned , you should get phonebook.

if after doing a restart, phonebook stay, then we can see why keeping provisioning to on losses phonebook.

just a small test to check
