CMS ad-hoc escalation vs adding a participant in CE9.8

Hi

Can anybody suggest the best approach where we can utilise both the ad-hoc call escalation feature in CMS but also the add participant from the user interface feature just released in CE9.8?

According to the documentation, escalation requires using a media resource group list but adding a participant must not. We really want both!

Many thanks, Chris

Hello Chris,

As per the release notes it seems utilizing both is not possible.

What i will suggest use add-hoc feature on personal or desk endpoints or users who do the ad-hoc more frequently and add participant  feature on common VC rooms which is mostly used for scheduled meetings.

I think both is not allowed because of cascade conference is not supported on CMS. and it could create cascade conference.

To explain suppose your endpoint is in a conference call on CMS and you have applied MRGL for ad-hoc conference.

Now if you wanted to add another participant it will try to escalate a new conference call on CMS which is not possible as you are already in a conference call and cascading will not work.

Thanks

Thanks Anurag. Yes this sounds like a workable solution. Still a shame though. Perhaps the Touch 10 could have an "invite" button rather than "add" so it could differentiate between creating a conference and adding to an existing conference?
