CMS - LDAP import - duplicate phone numbers

I'm trying to import some users from AD into CMS using the ipPhone number to create the space id - using the API interface.

But apparently a number of users are sharing the same number and CMS fails to do the import.

Is there a way to import the users anyway and skip the ones with duplicate ipPhone number?

It's not possible, it's all or nothing, no way to omit users based on duplicate phone numbers etc.  If there are any errors with the import, the entire import will fail.  This was also discussed here as well by another user: cms-ldap.
