Codec Registration rejected with VCS

Hi,

I am wondering I would receive registration rejected from the VCS, when the configuration is done correctly to the Codecs and through a template from the TMS. ICMP, DNS and NTP connectivity between the VCS and the Codecs are fine. registration license of the VCS is 2500 per device.

the error I am receiving from the TMS is: "#7422 - Gatekeeper Registration Failure "

Thanks,

Hi Jens,

The log level should be fixed in the upcoming x7.2.2 I believe. I'll double check when I'm back in the office, but seem to remember I was asked about release notes for it last week.

Thanks,
Guy

Does this happen to only one specific end-point or more?

Has the registraion policy for zone the end-point(s) are registering to been set to "allow"?

Is this happening to both H.323 and SIP registrations?

In any case, the VCS log should tell you why the registration is rejected.

No configured it is set to none,

H323

the VCS log should tell you why the registration is rejected

Nothing is visible on the VCS to check why it s disconnected.

Thanks,

Hi,

I was having duplicate alias. Problem is solved

Thanks,

Glad to hear it's fixed

Bit surprised that there's nothing in the VCS logs though; i.e. under registration status/history.

Should also show up in the event log, depending on the specified log level, unless of course you're running x7.2.x as Cisco stuffed up the logging in x7.2 resulting in only the "least verbose" level being available, regardless of level specified. I went back to x7.1 as a diret result of that.

Still hoping it'll be fixed sooner rather than later. :/

Guys,

I filtered with the codec ip address from Status->logs->event logs and I had this message.
