Codec SX80 gets stuck on booting. Has anybody experienced something similar ?

Hi,

We've got a used Cisco Codec SX80 ( TTC6-12 ). The device seems pretty unresponsive when connected to a monitor and also the uplink doesn't get up. On the console port however there is some ouput :

And this is pretty much all I get. Is it dead ? Is there a way to try and fix it ? I've tried looking for a procedure to deal with a corrupted image, but didn't find anything online.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Alex

Re: Codec SX80 gets stuck on booting. Has anybody experienced something similar ?

Looks very much like the internal file system is damaged.  Your easiest option would be to log an RMA with the Cisco TAC.

Re: Codec SX80 gets stuck on booting. Has anybody experienced something similar ?

Thank you, I've thought so too. This would be the easiest option, but since the contract for this device is long gone, it's not supported by TAC. Is there a way to try and rescue it myself ? Is there any way that I could reimage it or the procedure is not that easy and not documented ?

Re: Codec SX80 gets stuck on booting. Has anybody experienced something similar ?

Had the same problem today. But after filesystem check SX80 had rebooting in a loop.

Tryed to access the CLI via serial (115200, N, 8, 1) with follows:

Then the system was rebooted again and again an infinite number of times

After cold start I pressed  power button twice for factory reset. (Like in this video  )

After approx 1.5 hour got login prompt.

Then used commands:

xConfiguration Network 1 IPv4 Address: "192.168.1.128"

xConfiguration Network 1 IPv4 SubnetMask: "255.255.255.0"

xConfiguration NetworkServices SSH Mode: "On"

Got access via http and did restore config from backup file.
