Hi Nada, thank you for the thanks.

I had a 1700 at some point as well. If you liked that, you will love the EX90! :-)

Especially with the touchpad you will not miss the remote control anymore, but at least for now it

might be a workaround, please check that you use TC6, I think TC4/5 might not work with the remote.

Do not forget to check out the documentation:

Hello,

an alternative might be to control the EX90 using you browser?

Just point your browser to the IP address of your codec. But, what's the IP address of your codec? Maybe you can check that via the DHCP server and look for binding of MAC address to DHCP assigned IP address, or check the switch the EX90 is connected to and consult the mac-address-table? Or the ARP table.

Danny.

Hello,

I am unsure whether EX90 can be operated using remote control in absence of touch panel.

There are 2 settings which you need to set to try this :

xConfiguration Experimental SystemUnit MenuType: Full

xConfiguration SystemUnit IrSensor:On

First will give you the full OSD menus, latter enables IR.

Again : I am unsure whether EX90 is intended to be used without touch panel.

Mr danny

Yup, Noted..

thanks for ur suggestion , i will try for this.

Best Regards,

Nanda

Dear Mr Danny

I was tried to activate remote TRC4 from my MXP for EX90,

i  run command that you suggest in my Ex90  like below.

xConfiguration Experimental SystemUnit MenuType: Full

xConfiguration SystemUnit IrSensor:On

but when i try to console with hyperterminal, putty and secure crt . just blank,

there is no login notification.

i was input speed baudrate in 38400 according on the manual...

i also try with different speed baudrate.

whats wrong with that ?

please the suggestion and solution for this

Thanks before

Hello,

I do not understand the comments here.

You are trying to hookup a console to the EX90 now?

That requires a special cable.

Can you not use http:// to connect to the unit?

When you boot, do you get the Full Menus on your screen?

Hi.

Like dany said, a standard cisco console cable will fit physically (as it uses rj45, ...) but its a different pin layout

and more important a different signal level, there are some posts here how to make a proper cable.

The settings can be done as Danny also said via the webinterface but also via ssh(/telnet), so a console

connection is not needed.

What you have to do is:

* configure the mentioned parameters

* disconnect the touchpanel (its either or)

* reboot the endpoint

Regards the functionality, I just tried it with software version TC6 on the EX90 it it worked fine

for me (only tested a simple call nothings fancy) I noticed that both input ports were marked as "PC"

so there might be some side effects of using the ex90 without the touch panel

and its most likely not officially supported.

Btw, you want to use a TRC5 or at least a TRC4 as you will need the soft key buttons on top of the remote.

On the other hand, what is the reason why you want to use a remote control for a personal system

over the touch pad (and if you did not get one, I would ask cisco to get one)?

If you do not want to use the touch panel, you might be better of with with buying a SX20 or similar

and use the EX90 somewhere else :-)

Dear Mr Martin

Yes got it :-)

Anyway, the type of remote for 1700  is trc4 right ?  In this condition,i just maintain edge and mxp series for my customer,  and currently just only one ex90 type.

So, If trc4 does not work for ex90, it means i cannot operate my ex until i have touch panel ?

Okay Sir, I will discuss again about it with my team.thankyou.

Hy Sir,

Thanks for all suggestion.

My EX is can be use now with TRC4 remote.

but, there is something issue on here.

when i boot or restart this ex, the latest configuration back to the default.

especially on SystemUnit Experimental MenuType "Full" , back to "Indicator".

so when the EX started, i have to config again to set SystemUnit Experimental MenuType to "Full".

are we should doing like that or there is a problem when we using remote control TRC4 on EX.

Best Regards,

Nanda
